Students in this workshop students will learn the art of poetry through song-writing. The lab is divided into two parts: Lecture & Lab. The first 6-weeks, students dive into core content related to poetry and song-writing. We will analyze pop-culture music to identify literary techniques such as metaphor, simile, imagery, alliteration, and repetition to deepen meaning. During the labI portion of the program, students write their own songs and input them into state-of-the-art A.I music production software that brings the song to life with real audio. From there, students have total control over their creative process as they harness their skills with audio engineering to complete transform the audio and make it their own. The best part? Students leave the workshop owning the rights to their very own music!
If they’d like to take their learning a step further, enrolling in the GO VIRAL! lab will teach them how to take that music and share it with the world on a viral scale!
